Snoddy would love to play for United

SCOTLAND UNDER-21 star Robert Snodgrass has revealed he would jump at the chance to join Carlisle United after turning down a new deal with Livingston.
Snodgrass, who was offered a five-day trial with Spanish giants Barcelona in 2006, is seeking a move to England, but fears Livingston’s demand for a six-figure compensation package could put off Carlisle.
His agent, Lee Matthews, has already spoken to Blues boss John Ward, right, while Barnsley, Leyton Orient, Crewe and Hartlepool are also in the hunt for the 20-year-old striker. Snodgrass turned down an offer to double his wages at Scottish First Division Livi after new owner Angelo Massone made retaining him a top priority after buying the club earlier this month. He rejected a three-year deal at Almondvale in favour of trying his luck in England.
Snodgrass told News & Star Sport: “I certainly wouldn’t rule out a move to Carlisle because they are a big club with lots of potential.
“I’m looking to move away from Livi after five years as a pro there. I want to move away and start a life with my girlfriend and daughter.
“I’ve not had any dealings with the Carlisle manager but my agent has spoken to him several times.
“I've had offers from Dundee, Hamilton and Kilmarnock but I don't think Hamilton and Killie are keen on paying compensation.
“I've also have had interesting offers from four or five teams in England. I have been down south over the last couple of weeks visiting clubs and their stadiums and I feel the time is right for a fresh challenge.
“I'm told Livi looking for a compensation figure which is putting teams off, I just hope they will be realistic.”
Since Snodgrass is under 23, Livingston would still be due compensation were he to move on.
The Glasgow-born youngster has scored seven goals in 49 games for Livingston since his debut 2005.
He has been capped at Scotland under-19 level, and was part of the squad that reached the final of the 2006 European Championships in Poland.
In the same year he spent five days training at the Nou Camp in a bid to win a dream move to the former European champions.
Earlier this year he was a target for Premiership new-boys West Brom but Baggies boss Tony Mowbray has since cooled his interest.
Meanwhile United target Jason Price has ended speculation about his future by signing a new deal with Championship outfit Doncaster.
