Former Carlisle United frontman Nahki Wells has joined Burnley from Premier League rivals Huddersfield.

Bermudan international Wells, 27, has joined Sean Dyche’s side for an undisclosed fee.

Wells signed for Carlisle in January 2011 and made three substitute appearances before being released at the end of the season.

He then went on to play for Bradford, before he joined Huddersfield and helped to guide them to the Premier League.

"I have no doubt this is an ideal move for me," Well said to Burnley's website.

"I have played at every level besides the Premier League. I achieved that by getting promoted [with Huddersfield] and it wasn’t something that was going to change. I have always wanted to play there.

“I’ve documented that way back, when I first broke into the game.

“Now the opportunity is here and I’m very thankful to the football club to give it to me. I feel I can go on and do great things.”

Manager Dyche added: "We welcome Nahki as another striking option and a player that is different to those we have.

"He holds a different-skill set and therefore we feel can only enhance our attacking options in due course."

Meanwhile, Brandon Comley has joined Colchester United on loan.

He played for Carlisle on loan during the 2015/16 season under Keith Curle.

Another former United loanee in Tom Anderson has also been on the move today as he linked-up with Port Vale.

He joined the Cumbrians on loan from Burnley during the 2014/15 season.

Lee Novak, who started his senior career at Gretna, signed for Scunthorpe on a free transfer following his release by Charlton Athletic.
