Keith Curle has reassured Carlisle United fans he is happy at the club, despite reports linking the Blues boss with a move away from Brunton Park.

Curle has this week been touted as a potential replacement for Karl Robinson at League One Club MK Dons – but the man himself insisted he has no immediate plans to leave.

“The first I heard of it [a national newspaper story, speculating he was a contender] was on Wednesday night when I was speaking to media officer Andy Hall,” he said.

“I just said ‘what’s been going on and what do I need to know about?’.

“It was Andy who told me of the story linking me with the MK Dons job.”

Curle added: “I’m very happy in the job that I’ve got at Carlisle. I’m very happy in the working environment that I’m in.

“I’m very happy with the structure at the football club, which allows me to get the best out of Keith Curle as the manager.

“If things change, the correct channels will be spoken to if there is an approach.

“And they’re well within their rights, because I’m under contract, to turn that down.”

United’s manager also admitted he is expecting his players to start to attract further interest but doesn’t think that will have an adverse effect on their performances.
