Carlisle United striker Shaun Miller has been hit with a four-match suspension after his dismissal against Crewe.
The frontman's straight red card on Saturday has led to an extended ban as it was his second dismissal of the season.
There was little prospect of United appealing ref Nigel Miller's decision after Miller's shocking challenge on Crewe defender Oliver Turton during Saturday's 2-0 defeat.
And Miller's lay-off means manager Keith Curle will be without the striker for games against Yeovil, Notts County, Hartlepool and Stevenage.
He will return for the trip to Crawley on April 22, with just two other games remaining at that stage.
Miller's previous dismissal this term came in the 3-2 win against Hartlepool last October.
Curle initially described Miller's 50th-minute lunge on Turton as a "mistimed challenge".
But he said he had no complaints at the outcome.
"It was a tackle that was not needed, not warranted, and it was costly," Curle said.
"We were 1-0 down but with a lot of time on the clock to get goals.
"Players make decisions and have to be accountable for those decisions."
