Carlisle United equalled the club's longest ever unbeaten start to a Football League season after Jabo Ibehre's late leveller earned them a point at Doncaster.

The Blues have now gone 10 games without defeat since the start of the campaign - matching the achievement of their 1989/90 side.

United took the lead at the Keepmoat Stadium through Shaun Miller, but Doncaster hit back through Tommy Rowe and John Marquis.

Rowe then missed a penalty before sub Ibehre struck to leave Keith Curle's side seventh in League Two after an eventful encounter.

Striker Miller scored his second goal in four games when he diverted Nicky Adams' shot past keeper Marko Marosi in the 16th minute.

That came after the frontman had missed two good opportunities in the opening minutes.

But Donny took just two minutes to equalise, as they cut Carlisle open on the break as Rowe was put through to score.

Winger Adams later thumped a shot narrowly wide, while Miller put a further great chance over the bar after Marosi spilled a Tom Miller shot.

But Doncaster had become increasingly dangerous themselves, with the canny James Coppinger twice going close.

Andy Williams also spurned chances to put them in front, hitting the bar after a Mark Gillespie save rebounded to him, before Marquis struck, powering a shot past Gillespie shortly before the break.

United were then almost killed off on 49 minutes when Tom Miller was penalised for an aerial challenge on Andy Butler.

But Rowe's spot-kick hit the outside of the left-hand post.

Curle then tried to get the Blues back in the game by bringing Ibehre, Charlie Wyke and later Reggie Lambe off the bench.

Marquis was again denied for the hosts, before United upped the pressure, Marosi saving well from Michael Raynes and Ibehre.

Raynes then failed to get enough connection on a great Adams cross - but on 79 minutes Carlisle finally got their leveller, when Danny Grainger fed Adams on the left and his delivery was met by a powerful Ibehre header.

Darren Ferguson's side were denied another penalty in the closing stages as Williams went down under Grainger's challenge, but Carlisle ended the game on the front foot as they extended their unbeaten start.

It was captain Grainger's 100th appearance for the Blues, who host Colchester on Saturday.
