Keith Curle says Carlisle United will not shy away from the fact their home form now needs to match their fine efforts on the road.

The Blues are back at Brunton Park tonight against a Wycombe side yet to be beaten on their travels (kick-off 7.45pm).

Carlisle are also in much better shape away from home, having won four away games compared to just one at Brunton Park.

Curle acknowledged his team now needs to find a better formula at their own ground.

"At home we've not got the results we're looking for, but as a group we don't shy away from it," the manager said.

"The only way to improve it is to work hard and make ourselves available for that work.

"We are prepared to do that.

"Saturday at Colchester showed we've got the bravery, ability and know-how to win games.

"Now we need to come up with a game-plan that suits us at home."

United's fortunes away from Brunton Park have grown in even greater contrast to their efforts at home in recent weeks.

They have won their last three away games and have gone 280 minutes on their travels without conceding.

At home, they have failed to score for almost a similar length of time having lost their last three Brunton Park fixtures in all competitions.

Gareth Ainsworth's fifth-placed visitors have won four and drawn twice on the road, and are unbeaten in their last five League Two games.

Curle expects United to have opportunities to enjoy more possession tonight because of the more direct approach of the Chairboys, who include big frontman Adebayo Akinfenwa.

"They are flying high, are full of confidence, and will enjoy the Brunton Park pitch," Curle said.

"We will show them respect but attempt to plot their downfall.

"At home the opposition has often come and sat in, and if they are fortunate to get something to defend, they have been doing that manfully.

"We need to make sure can we dominate possession, which might be slightly easier against Wycombe, because they play slightly more direct, getting the ball up to the big lad and get people working off him.

"With Gareth's approach to the game, you need to have the toolset to withstand their threats and give them problems.

"Sometimes they will go man for man, out of possession, and you need to move them around with good possession of the ball and take some of those players into unfamiliar territories.

"We need to work the ball, and play the possession game we were enjoying last season before the injuries and disruptions."

Marcus Bean is suspended for the visitors while Richie Bennett and Tom Parkes remain banned for Carlisle.

Teenager Jack Egan, meanwhile, is back with United after injury cut short his loan at Workington Reds.

United confirmed the first-year pro suffered the injury in training, with Reds saying Egan has broken a bone in his foot.
