Carlisle United are in the running to be named the top family club in League Two.

The Blues are on a two-club shortlist for the honour in the EFL Awards.

United are up against Stevenage for the Nickelodeon Family Club of the Year award.

Their recognition comes in part for the work done by the club's community sports trust, headed by former Blues winger John Halpin.

Other activities run by the club, such as their community ticket scheme, have also proved popular.

United will learn whether they have won the award at the ceremony in London on Sunday, April 9.

Also in League Two, the division's player of the year award will be contested by Luton's Danny Hylton and Doncaster pair James Coppinger and John Marquis.

Exeter's Ollie Watkins is up against Oxford's Ryan Ledson and Reading's John Swift for EFL young player of the year.

EFL chief executive Shaun Harvey said: "Our clubs continue to have a positive and lasting impact in their local communities, using the power of football to deliver life-changing programmes and activities. “The EFL Awards are a fantastic way to recognise the achievements of clubs, players, backroom staff and fans."
