Keith Curle's Carlisle United squad today fly to Exeter ahead of their massive League Two play-off decider with a pledge to fans: We'll give everything.

The United players are jetting from Newcastle to the Devon city as part of their preparations for tomorrow's second leg.

But Curle said he and No2 Lee Dykes will not be flying with the squad.

Instead, they are driving - and plan to meet a transfer target en route.

Curle said he and Dykes have already met three possible signings, with a fourth on the agenda as they head to Devon tonight.

The Blues' commercial partnership with the north-east airport enabled them to make the flight arrangement at short notice.

It followed a request from Curle to the club's hierarchy to look into the possibility of flying rather than making a second long coach trip to Exeter in the space of two weeks.

United's manager said: "We are flying down [today] and then training on Thursday morning.

"I make a request on how I think is the best way to prepare, it gets put to the football club and the stakeholders, and there is a cost implication, but we ask in the right way.

"It is something we thought was the right thing to do on this occasion and it's fantastic the club and stakeholders have backed us."

United said their arrangement with the airport, who have sponsored Brunton Park's Warwick Road End since January last year, helped put Curle's plan into action.

"Phil King [sales and marketing director] was able to tap into his commercial contacts there and that relationship has definitely helped," said Blues spokesman Andy Hall.

"It is something Keith felt it would benefit the squad, particularly with it being a midweek evening game, and it's something the club very quickly got on board with."

Most of United's travelling support will be heading to Exeter tomorrow and Curle said his players would give their all to try and book a place in the Wembley final.

The manager said: "No matter what happens in the game, we're going to give you everything we've got.

"The supporters will know we're prepared to try everything we've got in our locker."

Curle's main selection decision will concern whether Jabo Ibehre is fit enough to rejoin tomorrow's squad.

United's boss was also encouraged by the impact of another striker - Shaun Miller - in the first leg.

The ex-Morecambe man came off the bench to score United's dramatic equaliser in the 3-3 draw.

Curle said: "The kid's chomping at the bit to be involved. He's a livewire, he's got a natural attitude to scoring goals, and he's a big occasion player.

"The bigger the occasion the better the performance from Shaun."
