Keith Curle has urged Carlisle United's young guns to make the most of their huge opportunity tonight as they face Leicester in the FA Youth Cup.

United's under-18s will run out at the home of the Premier League champions in the fourth round at the King Power Stadium (kick-off 7pm).

Manager Curle will be travelling to watch Darren Edmondson's teenagers and hopes they are relishing the occasion on a pitch normally used by title-winning stars like Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy.

"I hope they enjoy it - and use it as a motivation," Curle said.

"Some players are very lucky to have that environment week-in, week-out.

"As young players that's what you've got to strive for."

Curle believes the youth side's cup run has helped create a "feel-good factor" in United's academy.

Edmondson, meanwhile, says the opening stages tonight will be crucial if his side are to conquer any nerves against Trevor Peake's young Foxes.

It is a fourth straight away tie for the young Blues after victories against FC United, Chesterfield and Barnsley in previous rounds.

Edmondson said: "Hopefully we can give a good account of ourselves, the lads will do themselves justice and then they can reflect on what they've just done.

"We've got a lot of pace up front, and counter-attacking football suits us. So the away ties haven't fazed us so far.

"They are a great group to work with and they seem to be taking it in their stride.

"We have watched footage of Leicester but ultimately goals win games. We took our chance at Barnsley and it gave us something to hold onto. If we can get the first goal here then we can hopefully make it a tough evening for Leicester.

"At Barnsley the occasion got to one or two - there was some cramp on 50 minutes which was purely down to tension and anxiety.

"We've tried to focus more on enjoyment and, if we can start well, that will potentially overcome nerves. That first 20 minute period could win or lose the game. Coping with an occasion like this will set them in good stead."

After spending much of the season depleted through injuries, Edmondson has a fully-fit squad to pick from, with Max Brown having returned from a thigh problem.

"Unfortunately two lads will be left out," Edmondson added. "One of them is likely to be Jaic Miller, who has only played 65 minutes for the under-16s having come back from his cruciate.

"Another will be joining him and that's not a part of it I'm looking forward to - but it's part of the growing-up process in in professional football, how you deal with setbacks and overcome them."

Tonight's winners will face a trip to Middlesbrough in the fifth round.
