Carlisle Utd 5 Mansfield Town 2: A second-half hat-trick by Charlie Wyke sent Carlisle United to the top of League Two.

The striker claimed the first Football League treble of his career to see the Blues leapfrog Plymouth on goal difference after the previous leaders lost at Morecambe.

Jason Kennedy and Reggie Lambe were also on target as Keith Curle's side came from behind against Mansfield.

And it is the first time United have been top of any table since August 2010, when they briefly led League One.

In a game that passed a midday pitch inspection, Pat Hoban headed the visitors in front.

The Mansfield striker met an inswinging corner and headed home in the sixth minute.

But Kennedy grabbed his ninth of the season when he headed Adams' cross past Scott Shearer after a short corner.

After a first half often marked by the touchline histrionics of visiting boss Steve Evans and no2 Paul Raynor, Wyke then opened his account four minutes after the break.

United's number nine sent a looping header past Shearer after Nicky Adams had crossed from the left.

The frontman then grabbed another on 62 minutes, guiding home another header from a fine Danny Grainger cross.

And Wyke then completed his treble from the penalty spot with 10 minutes to go, taking his tally to 12 for the season.

Sub Danny Rose then scored in the 85th minute to give Mansfield slim hope of a comeback.

But Lambe then got in on the act for the Blues, clipping home an injury-time fifth against his former club in front of a 4,822 crowd.
