Loy to return to training in triple injury boost for Carlisle Utd

Rory Loy is set to take a big step back towards a return for Carlisle United as boss Greg Abbott eyes a triple injury boost.
The Blues manager says striker Loy – out since last December with a broken leg – could be back on the training ground next Monday.
The Scot is ready to take part in ‘contact’ training, which would be a major step on the road back to fitness for the former Rangers man.
Abbott is also encouraged by the progress being made by JP McGovern and Lee Miller after their respective groin and ankle injuries.
“JP might join in training on Monday and the same with Rory, who might join us in the contact stuff,” said the Blues boss. “Rory is still a bit further away because he hasn’t got any base fitness, which he will have to build up. But JP shouldn’t take long and that would be another experienced player back.”
Striker Miller saw a surgeon yesterday and reported that he is on track as he bids to be back in the Blues team before the turn of the year.
The talisman forward tweeted: “All clear from the surgeon! Good 2 go! Step up my rehab! #cantwait2bback #happydays.”
United were today expecting an update on Peter Murphy after the defender had to be substituted in Tuesday’s win against Oldham with a tight hamstring.
Danny Livesey will be on alert for a call-up against Bournemouth on Saturday if Murphy is ruled out.
United have announced reduced ticket prices for next weekend’s FA Cup first round clash with Ebbsfleet. Pre-sale prices for adults are £14 (seating) and £12 (terracing) and £18/£16 on the day.
