Carlisle United today made experienced Notts County defender Mike Edwards their first summer signing.
A very good signing. You only need to read the kind things said by the NCFC fans on here. Dont think any CUFC fans will be writing such things on a simular site when Lubo signs for another club!
loosing Tom is a blow, he is a very good player. However last season one of our problems was being to light weight in midfield. Games against teams such as Brentford we were totally dominated in midfield by bigger stronger players. We need to sign a replacement who can dominate more and be more physical Tom was a great tackler and very strong for his size but he was still very small and could often become lost in games.I dont want Carlisle to become a team of big cart horses like Preston but every great team needs a big strong enforcer in Midfield , just look at Man city! Tommy Miller released by Huddersfield would be perfect! We also need a right winger to compete with MGovern and another released Huddersfield player Gary Roberts would be perfect! Then its the mythical goal scorer. CUFC fans must understand that every team in the country wants to sign a sticker this summer! If you have a 25 goal a season player then another bigger club wants to sign him and you need a replacement or clubs like us who dont have one and REALLY REALLY need one! So the chances of us signing a player that scored 25 goals last season is nill as another bigger clun will always be after the same player! We rely on Greg finding a gem from some where who might not have scored many last season or ever but who can if in the right team.So lets have some faith in Greg, his record for player signings is actually amazingly good. (obvious errors such as Offiong are pretty rear) If he can sign the 3or 4 we need then it could be a very good season ahead!
Good signing who poses a threat at set pieces and is a real (though ageing) strong centre half.
Tom T will be hard to replace as he had youth on his side and energy to spare.
Jordan Cook MUST be a priority to sit in behind Lee Miller and Rory Loy or wander wide. Zoko and Michalik were forgone conclusions but Greg has addressed Michaliks departure but must now turn his attention to a REAL winger/flair player.

Have your say
I hear Glasgow Rangers are looking to offload some players!!!
