Carlisle Utd's Lee Miller and Chris Chantler out for season

Lee Miller and Chris Chantler have been ruled out for the rest of the season in a massive blow to Carlisle United's promotion hopes.

Both players underwent scans on their respective groin and hamstring injuries in Darlington yesterday.

The Blues received the results today and have confirmed that neither player will play any more part in Carlisle's campaign.

Top scorer Miller, arguably United's most important player, injured his groin during Monday's goalless draw with Scunthorpe.

Versatile defender/midfielder Chantler, meanwhile, has been battling a hamstring problem since the March 31 victory against Huddersfield.

Both will miss Carlisle's remaining five games and will not be available should Greg Abbott's side make the play-offs, the Blues say.

United have not revealed details on the exact nature of both injuries but say Miller and Chantler "are expected to be fit for the start of next season."
