We deserve better

They never disappoint, do they? Another week, another abuse of the word “deserve” by a League One manager.
This time it’s our old friend Paul Dickov, who believes a good ‘performance’ minus goals should equal victory.
“We’re really disappointed in how we lost the game,” moaned the Oldham boss after Tuesday’s 2-1 setback to Scunthorpe. “I felt we thoroughly deserved to win it.”
What, because your team did lots of good stuff outside the penalty areas, but not in them? Because Scunthorpe had the cheek to do the most important bits better than you? Sigh.
