Arrests after Carlisle street fighting

Five men were arrested following reports of fighting in the street.

Five men were arrested following reports of fighting in the street.
The suspects were held after police were alerted to trouble in Peel Street, off Wigton Road in Carlisle.
A window was smashed on an Isuzu Trooper during the flare-up.
Those arrested were four men from Carlisle, aged 19, 21, 22 and 29 and a man, 21, from Wigton. They were held on suspicion of affray and were questioned before being bailed until the new year.
A force spokesman said: “Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident and in particular they want to speak to anyone who saw an Isuzu Trooper travelling on the wrong side of the road on Peel Street.”
The trouble happened at about 5.50pm on Sunday. Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 and ask to speak to DC David Howard.
