THE Whitehaven and District History Society held its first meeting of the year on January 16 when members were told of the strange tales of boggles, fairies and things that go bump in the night by Alan Cleaver and Lesley Park.

OUR first meeting of the year was opened by the children of Moor Row Junior School. Their theme was Christmas carols and songs. They always give us 100 percent and more.
