Elbra notch 50 points

TITLE-CHASING Ellenborough proved last night they are the Cumberland League team of the moment after posting over 50 points against third-placed Hensingham.

They will now host leaders Kells on Friday night, with the winners crowned Division One champions.

Ellenborough led 20-0 at the break last night through tries from Paul McGee, Paul Southward and two from Barrie Murdock. Stephen Stoddart landed two conversions.

They slotted further second-half tries courtesy of Paul McGee, Jamie Watson, two, Paul Southward, Dean Scholey and Andrew Lightfoot. Stoddart added another four conversions.

Gavin Maudling scored a consolation try for Hensingham, in the 52-6 reverse, Jamie Sharp converting.

Seaton, in fourth, enjoyed a 34-14 success at Wath Brow. Duncan Moyle, Richard George, Jon Roper, Brett Phillips, Nicky Williamson and James McKay crossed for the visitors. Moyle added five goals.

Karl Olstrom, Martin Barwise and Jason Connery replied for the Hornets, Connery adding a conversion.

The Dale Campbell Savours Final on Thursday night is being played at Maryport ARLFC, 7pm.
