Henney will do the business

BARROW star Matt Henney will be flying the flag for Workington Reds in tonight’s Blue Square North play-off opener against Telford, reckons chairman Humphrey Dobie.
The West Cumbrian joined Barrow last summer, after a sparkling career at Borough Park, and Dobie is hoping he can help inspire the Bluebirds to reach the Conference.
“Matty’s had a great season, and good luck to him,” said the chairman, who discounted internet rumours that Reds were targeting the midfielder for a return to the club next term.
“We regard him as a Workington player. He was certainly bred here.”
Barrow are among Reds’ traditional rivals, and Darren Edmondson’s men would miss out on two county derbies if the Bluebirds earn promotion.
But Dobie would like to see the club perform on the national stage.
“It keeps the county at the forefront of the footballing populace,” he added. “Best wishes from the Reds to Barrow and to Carlisle.”
Henney’s first-half goal was enough to beat visitors Worcester in front of almost 2,500 fans on Saturday, and to secure fifth place in the table. Barrow tonight entertain Telford in the first leg of their play-off semi-final with the return on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Dobie revealed that police may install security cameras at Borough Park after the stadium was targeted by vandals.
