Shaun and Rob are Town brothers in war!

FIRST-CHOICE Workington Town hooker Shaun Lunt reckons he may have to take up arms against big brother Rob to wrench back his prized No 9 shirt – but he admits it may not be on Sunday against Swinton Lions.

Shaun has been sidelined since being kneed in the ribs in the defeat at Blackpool three weeks ago, and he watched loose-forward Rob perform as a stand-in hooker against Hull KR last week.

“He has taken my position and is playing really well. I’ll have to fight him at home to get it back,” joked Shaun.

On a more serious note, he is concerned that his condition is not improving.

“It’s not too good,” he admi tted. “The pain is moving further down my back and I’m just hoping it is nothing serious.

“I tried running on Wednesday night and it was no good. All I can do is swimming.

“I don’t like missing games and I want to play. I’ll give it to the weekend and see how it is.”

Swinton coach Paul Kidd claimed he could be without eight players this weekend, including the suspended Adam Bibey, following last week’s 20-8 Challenge Cup exit at the hands of visitors Oldham.

Kidd said: “Attacking fluency is what we’re lacking at the minute but there was a big improvement in the performance when we played Oldham.”
