Time Utd’s past brought to book

PRODUCT endorsements won’t find their way into this column very often, and that’s a solemn promise.

On the odd occasion, though, the hole in the market is so gaping that we have to pipe up when it looks like being filled.

We haven’t seen the finished article yet, but a hopeful cheer went out when the press release for Paul Harrison’s new book, Carlisle United: The Complete Record (Breedon Books, £19.99) dropped onto the desk this week.

In my experience, Blues supporters (and not just stat-hungry hacks) crave a comprehensive, reliable, go-to publication for those times when a historical fact needs to be quickly whistled up.

Fans who pre-order the book before the end of June will have their names inscribed in a ‘roll of honour’ in its pages.

It’s due to reach our shelves in August. Hope it lives up to its title.
