Something fresh to try

TWO new versions of clever and classy recipe books hit the stores this week.

Fresh Italian and Fresh Spanish provide the chance to enjoy traditional and contemporary meals, ranging from snacks to dinner parties without a high fat, salt and sugar content.

There are more than 70 easy-to-follow recipes in each and both books feature full-page pictures to inspire.

Described as ‘mini’ editions by publisher Hamlyn, these paperbacks (both retailing at £8.99) are not exactly pocket-sized.

But every recipe includes a breakdown of the calories, salt and sugar content involved in the meal.

Fresh Spanish includes tapas classics and easy weekday meals such as Warm Chickpea Salad and Baked Sardines.

And there are also impressive dishes to entertain guests including Grilled Monkfish Skewers with Romesco Sauce and Basque-style Chicken with Ham.

Fresh Italianfeatures from the classic Pesto Alla Genovese and Pizza Marinara to the more exotic Griddled Swordfish with Lemon, Olives & Capers and Roast Rabbit.

There are also ideas for vegetarian meals and desserts.

Is it a miracle or a crime against nature that a man has given birth to a baby?

Miracle - any new life should be welcomed into the world

Crime against nature - the child will always be labelled a freak

It's not really anyone else's business
