SUZANNE Eccleston, a general advertisement manager and group motors manager, and Alistair Nicholson, a display account manager, both work for Cumbrian Newspapers. They live in Gosforth.
HOW THEY MET: When Alistair returned from a world trip in 2005.
PROPOSAL: Suzanne woke on Christmas Day 2006 to Alistair proposing.
VENUE: St Olaf’s Church in Wasdale on December 1, 2007.
BRIDE’S OUTFIT: An Ana Cristache, ivory, pure silk gown with a circular headband of red roses and freesias in her hair.
GROOMSMEN: Dominic Ferguson was best man. The bride’s son James John Eccleston was an usher.
BRIDESMAIDS: The bride’s daughter Amy Eccleston, 18, was a bridesmaid and wore an emerald green and purple halter-neck dress.
FLOWERS: A bouquet of freesias and red roses with pearls from Rapunzel Floral Design in Seascale.
TRANSPORT: A black and cream Daimler from A Touch Of Class, Workington.
RECEPTION: Mulled wine served on arrival at Muncaster Castle for 38 guests with 120 in the evening.
TABLE SETTINGS: Flower arrangements of red roses from Rapunzel Floral Design.
FAVOURS: Christmas crackers with wedding confetti and fudge made by Joan Thompson.
FIRST DANCE: Home by Michael Buble.
ENTERTAINMENT: Entertainment and a disco provided by a friend.
HONEYMOON: A trip to India in October this year.
