Rose logo for new academy

THIS is the logo of the new Richard Rose Central Academy.
It was revealed at last night’s meeting along with the winners of the competition to design it.
Pupils at NCTC and St Aidan’s were urged to take up the challenge of designing their own logo and colour scheme using the academy’s name.
Once selected, the winner was given to a graphic designer to come up with the final product. Carlisle Academies chief executive Peter Noble said: “All the entries were of a very high standard and it was clear that a lot of thought had gone into their creation.
“Devising branding is not as simple as it may seem and the end result must be flexible and strong enough to be utilised across the whole range of marketing uses, including brochures, stationary and uniforms, where it is usually embroidered.
“We have used two entries as the inspiration behind the winning design, one providing the colour scheme and one providing the emblem.
“Those entries were created by 12-year-old Hannah Beattie from NCTC and Ruth Doggart, 13, from St Aidan’s, who will each receive a £50 voucher.”
Because of the strong standard of entries evoked by the academy name, all entrants are to receive £20 vouchers.
The competition is to be repeated at Morton School in the next few weeks for pupils to design their own rose emblem.
