HOW THEY MET: In Leo’s Bar, Maryport in 1999.
PROPOSAL: They decided to get married after attending another wedding.
VENUE: Broughton Craggs Hotel on July 5.
BRIDE’S OUTFIT: An Ellis Bridals ivory duchess satin dress encrusted with crystals and beads from Champagne Brides, Workington.
GROOMSMEN: John Pattinson was best man. The bride’s brothers Ben McCartney and Sean McCartney, and the groom’s brother Mark Penman were ushers. The bride and groom’s son Owen Penman and the groom’s nephew Liam Penman were page boys. They wore black suits, silver waistcoats with scrunch ties from Tom Little, Maryport.
BRIDESMAIDS: Lisa Shepard was chief bridesmaid. The bride’s cousins Bryony Newton and Skye Newton and the groom’s cousin Abbie Redhead were bridesmaids. They wore baby pink dresses with a band around the waist tied with a crystal heart made by the groom’s aunt Mary Tiffin. The groom’s cousin Ellie Ivison and the groom’s god-daughter Ana Penman were flowergirls and wore ivory dresses from BHS, Carlisle.
FLOWERS: The bride had a bouquet of ivory roses, the bridesmaids had ivory and pink roses and the flowergirls carried baskets of roses – all from Seaton Garden Centre.
TRANSPORT: Beauford from A Touch Of Class and a stretch limo from West Coast Limousines.
RECEPTION: Three-course meal for 79 at Broughton Craggs followed by an evening reception at Grasslot Club, Maryport for a further 60 guests. Buffet supplied by Sandra Parsons and Margaret Simpson.
FIRST DANCE: Rule The World by Take That.
ENTERTAINMENT: Mike Bell.
