The wedding of Lisa Cottam and Adam Lamb

HOW THEY MET: On a night out in Gosforth 10 years ago.

PROPOSAL: Adam proposed in Universal Studios, Florida, on New Year’s Eve.

VENUE: St Paul’s, Irton, on June 21.

BRIDE’S OUTFIT: A Bonny Bridal white, strapless, princess-cut gown with embroidery and beading on the neckline and hem, and a semi-cathedral length train from The Wedding Barn near Penrith.

GROOMSMEN: The groom’s brother Adrian Lamb was the best man. Richard Gate, John Jackson and Chris Simcock were ushers. They wore Cameron Rossmid grey suits with white waistcoats and purple ruche ties from Contemporary Menswear, of Whitehaven.

BRIDESMAIDS: The bride’s sister Rachel Cottam was chief bridesmaid and Sarah Locke was maid of honour. They wore strapless, deep purple Mori Lee dresses with diamante detail from The Wedding Barn. The bride’s god-daughter, two-year-old Elizabeth Putnam, was a flowergirl and wore a white dress.

FLOWERS: The bride carried a hand-tied teardrop bouquet of purple lissianthas, white gerbera, spray roses and calla lilies, while the bridesmaids had smaller versions – all from Wisha Sewell, of Egremont.

TRANSPORT: A cream Beauford from A Touch Of Class, Workington.

RECEPTION: Champagne and Pimm’s reception in a marquee in the grounds of the Screes Inn, Nether Wasdale for 120 guests with a further 250 guests in the evening.

CAKE: A three-tier fruit and sponge cake decorated with fresh flowers, purple ribbon and a diamante trim – made by a friend.

FIRST DANCE: You Do Something To Me by Paul Weller

ENTERTAINMENT: Smooth – a saxophone and vocal duet. Seventh Wave band and disco.

HONEYMOON: Dubai and the Maldives.
