Laura Anderson, 29, who works for Hays, and John Latimer, 36, a sales executive for Telfords Skoda, live in Carlisle

HOW THEY MET: At a party 12 years ago.

PROPOSAL: Christmas morning 2006.

VENUE: St Mary Magdalene Church, Hayton on May 31.

BRIDE’S OUTFIT: An ivory silk gown with diamante and crystal detail by Donna Salado, a crystal tiara and veil – from I Do, Cockermouth.

GROOMSMEN: John Addis and Stuart Pringle were best men. Phill Clifford and the bride’s brother Tom Anderson were ushers. The bride’s godson Bradley Foster was a page boy and ring bearer. They wore charcoal grey Prince Edward suits with platinum waistcoats and ties from Country Dreams, of Carlisle.

BRIDESMAIDS: Sarah Clifford, 28, was chief bridesmaid. The bride’s cousin Samantha Major, 20, and the bride’s god-daughter Maisy Tebbs, nine, were bridesmaids. Ruby Clifford, three, was a flowergirl. Sarah and Samantha wore silk taffeta, peacock green dresses from I Do. Maisy and Ruby wore ivory dresses from Debenhams. Family friend Margaret Kerss customised the dresses by making matching sashes and bags.

FLOWERS: Hand-tied rose bouquets decorated with diamantes by Brenda Dowding at Gardenalia.

TRANSPORT: A 1935 Rolls Royce from Silver Lady Wedding Cars, of Longtown.

RECEPTION: Dalston Hall Hotel for 75 guests with a further 60 for the evening buffet.

CAKE: Three-tier fruit cake decorated with roses and diamantes made by Sandra Slack, of Little Corby.

FIRST DANCE: Every Time We Touch (Candlelight remix) by Cascada.

ENTERTAINMENT: Dalston Hall disco.

HONEYMOON: Cuba.
