Carla McMean, 32, who manages a coffee shop, and Shawn Dixon, 34, a roofer, live in Workington
HOW THEY MET: On a night out in Workington in March 2000.
PROPOSAL: Shawn took Carla out for a meal on their fifth anniversary and proposed.
VENUE: St Paul’s Bay, Lindos, Rhodes on June 5.
BRIDE’S OUTFIT: A white strapless Mori Lee dress decorated with crystals and pearls from Confetti, in Newcastle with a crystal tiara from Dresses and Dreams, Workington.
GROOMSMEN: The bride’s brother Andrew McMean, 36, was best man. He and the groom wore black suits from House of Fraser with silver ties from Debenhams.
BRIDESMAIDS: The bride’s sister Jayne Debono, 34, was maid of honour. The groom’s daughter Jaye Poland, 11, and his sister Shannon Hopkins, 13, were bridesmaids. They wore turquoise, ballerina-length dresses made by a friend.
FLOWERS: A bouquet of white calla lilies decorated with crystals from Seaton Garden Centre.
TRANSPORT: Black Mercedes.
RECEPTION: A Champagne reception at the Iberostar Hotel in Lindos for 21 guests. They held an evening reception on their return at the British Legion Club in Workington for 150 guests.
CAKE: A white-iced fruit cake made by a friend.
FIRST DANCE: I Knew I Loved You by Savage Garden.
ENTERTAINMENT: Disco by Andrew from Ashy’s Roadshow.
HONEYMOON: Lindos, Rhodes.
