Catherine can't wait to wear her wedding dress

Catherine Rogers can’t wait to wear the pure silk ivory wedding dress she won at the Live the Dream Wedding Event in March.
Catherine won the Cumbrian Weddings’ competition to find the most romantic proposal, and then visited three local dress shops to choose her three favourite dresses. It was left to readers to make the final choice for her.
The strapless Ian Stewart gown, sprinkled with small crystals and diamantes with a bow and buttons on the back from I Do in Cockermouth, was the winner and the couple have now set the date for their big day and booked the venues.
Catherine, 26, and fiancé Jonathan May, 34, will be getting married on May 30 next year at St Bega’s Church, Bassenthwaite.
“I have been to try the dress on and it is just how I remember it,” said Catherine. “I will need to go back nearer the wedding for final fittings.
“It is difficult for Jonathan because he hasn’t of course seen the dress, but I know he will love it when he sees it on the day.”
The ceremony will be followed by a reception at The Castle Inn nearby.
Catherine, a marketing assistant at Tullie House, said: “It will be a small wedding as we want it to be low key and the church only holds about 40 people. I will have one bridesmaid – my sister Rebecca.”
Catherine has already had a tiara made by Justine from JE Varah Tiaras, which was one of the many prizes donated by exhibitors at the Live the Dream Wedding Event in addition to her wedding dress.
Catherine and Jonathan are also hoping to take up the prize of an overnight stay at The Weary, Castle Carrock and chair covers from Ambience Venue Styling.
The couple, from Welton, impressed the judges with their tale of an emotional proposal while visiting the ancient Spanish hilltop town of Altea last September.
