ANGELA McMinn, 33, a sales adviser for Topshop, and Gareth Jon Sewell, 26, a quantity surveyor for Thomas Armstrong, Maryport, live in Workington.
HOW THEY MET: On a night out with friends in Yankees Bar, Workington in September 2004.
PROPOSAL: After a romantic meal at the Limelounge in Whitehaven, Gareth proposed beside the harbour in August 2005.
VENUE: St Mary’s Church, Westfield, Workington, on May 3.
THEME: Ivory and chocolate.
BRIDE’S OUTFIT: An ivory, strapless satin gown with a gold, pearl and diamante bodice, decorated in beadwork with a ruche waist. A crystal tiara and ivory veil with crystal droplets, all by Champagne Brides, Workington.
GROOMSMEN: Gary Pala, 25, was best man. The groom’s brother Richard Gallacher, 43, the groom’s cousin Konrad Hansen, 33, and the bride’s brother Jamie Flitton, 17, were ushers. The bride’s son, Cameron Sampson, five, was a page boy. They wore Prince Edward suits, grey pinstriped trousers, black tailcoats, ivory waistcoats and chocolate coloured cravats. The groom wore a cream suit with ivory and chocolate swirl waistcoat and cravat.
BRIDESMAIDS: The bride’s sister Sharon McMinn, 32, was chief bridesmaid and Julie Earle, 35, was a bridesmaid. They wore strapless toffee dresses with panelled bodices and A-line skirts form Champagne Brides, of Workington. The groom’s niece Reanne Sewell, 11, was a bridesmaid. The couple’s 18-month-old daughter Jasmine Sewell was a flowergirl. They wore ivory chiffon ballerina-style dresses.
FLOWERS: The bride had a teardrop bouquet of cream roses, freesias, baby ivy and diamantes with smaller versions for the bridesmaids – from Floral Designs, of Workington.
TRANSPORT: A blue Beauford and cream limousines from A Touch of Class, Workington.
RECEPTION: A four-course meal for 65 guests at Hunday Manor, Workington, with a buffet and chocolate fountain in the evening for a further 40 guests.
TABLE SETTINGS: Candles, rose petals and balloons from Crown Celebrations.
FAVOURS: Belgian chocolate truffles for the ladies, scratch cards for the men and activity packs for the children.
CAKE: Square sponge cakes decorated with a rose and ribbon. A top tier with flowers made by a family friend.
FIRST DANCE: Flying Without Wings by Westlife.
ENTERTAINMENT: MB’Z Disco, Maryport.
HONEYMOON: Spain.
