LYNNE Carruthers, 24, who works for Cumbria Constabulary, and Christopher Murdock, 28, an electrician at Crown Bevcan, live in Wigton.
HOW THEY MET: On a night out in Cockermouth in 1999.
PROPOSAL: After a meal at home in March 2006, Chris proposed with the engagement ring he had designed at Michael King Jewellers.
VENUE: St Mary’s Church, Wigton on August 17, 2007.
THEME: Ivory, chocolate and blush pink.
BRIDE’S OUTFIT: An Ian Stuart Pompadour taffeta and pleated tulle ivory gown with a fitted bodice, hand-draped and beaded with crystals and sequins from I Do in Cockermouth; and a three-layered veil and tiara encrusted with crystals from Wedding Warehouse, Carlisle.
GROOMSMEN: David Jackson, 27, was best man. The bride’s brother Kevin Carruthers, 23, the groom’s brother Stephen Murdock, 30, Michael Benson, Steven Relph, Kevin Wallace, Stephen Watson, all 27, were ushers. The bride’s nephew 23-month-old Luke Carruthers was page boy. They wore black morning suits with ivory pinstriped waistcoats and chocolate coloured scrunch ties from Tom Little, Maryport.
BRIDESMAIDS: Debbie Crone, 23, was chief bridesmaid. The bride’s cousin Sally Newbon, 11, Kirstie Somerville, 29, and Suzanne Gair, 28, were bridesmaids.They wore chocolate coloured Justin Alexander bustier dresses from the Wedding Warehouse.
FLOWERS: Bouquets of ivory and blush pink roses tied with ivory ribbons supplied by Brenda Simm, Abbeytown.
TRANSPORT: A 1930s, vintage-style ivory Beauford and an ivory and black Daimler limousine from Silver Lady Wedding Cars, Longtown
RECEPTION: Sparkling wine and bucks fizz reception at the Greenhill Hotel, Wigton for 130 guests with a further 120 in the evening.
TABLE SETTINGS: Tall, rectangular glass vases with bear grass and ivory and blush pink roses.
FAVOURS: Compilation CDs with a selection of love songs made by the bride and groom for the ladies. The cases were designed with photographs of the bride and groom when they were children. The men received Thorntons toffee wrapped with a chocolate coloured ribbon. The children got pink and blue boxes with a mixture of chocolates and sweets from Thorntons.
CAKE: A three-tier, ivory sponge cake decorated with fresh ivory and blush pink roses and diamantes.
FIRST DANCE: Amazed by Lonestar.
ENTERTAINMENT: Andy Whitaker, And Then Some Entertainment.
HONEYMOON: Hua Hin, Thailand.
PHOTOGRAPHER: Kuba Wieczorek, London. A studio was set up in the evening for the guests to have their photographs taken with a white backdrop.
VIDEOGRAPHER: Stewart Groves, Carlisle.
