Send a message and then race for life

AROUND 4,000 women are set to take part in Carlisle’s Race for Life tomorrow at the Sheepmount Stadium.
Phone entries and online entries closed at midnight on Thursday with well-over 3,000 signed up to the morning event and around 500 for the afternoon.
This year’s event is set to rival previous years and for the first time those taking part will be able to display signs and messages at a special reflection zone.
The event is being hosted by Cumbrian Newspapers’ promotions manager David McNeill who is urging those taking part to send messages of support to be read out at the event.
David, who will be on stage from 10am tomorrow, said: “I admire the ladies taking part in this event and it is crucial that we remember why we are there and those who are not.
“We can raise a lot of money for Cancer Research UK and have fun at the same time. Therefore the more messages and shout-outs I can get the better.”
You can email your messages to david.mcneill@cngroup.co.uk before 5pm today.
