Warriors’ third title

THE Warriors have taken their third title in a row in the Astro Soccer Sixes.

Underdogs
DIVISION TWO: The Underdogs

And their veteran goalkeeper Ruben Roberts has thrown down a challenge to other teams in West Cumbria to try and stop them making it four in a row.

In the final round of matches - which are Cockermouth School each Tuesday evening -The Warriors secured the premier title in this week’s final round of matches, pipping the The Wanderers by one point.

Comeback specialists Bellbrigg Bombers showed endless spirit, grit and determination to grasp the division one title.

They appeared to relish giving the opposition a goal or two before stepping up a gear to recover the points in many matches as they did last week with a 7-5 win over rivals Great Clifton after trailing 5-0.

Division two was won by newcomers The Underdogs, who swept aside all before them. Their slick passing and clinical finishing lead them to 11 consecutive victories and proved too much for the opposition.

The next Astro Soccer league will start again in September. New teams are being recruited. Contact Billy Rafferty on 07710 406 989 or apply by online at www.astro-soccer-sixes.co.uk for more details.
