Nine-goal Grasslot build on their lead

THE Over 35 football league had re-started after its mid season break in high scoring fashion.

In division one Grasslot put nine past Bush, the game ending 9-2.

Grasslot strengthened their lead at the top with a hat-trick from Phil Graham plus other strikes from Matty Charters, Steve Scott and Dave Birkett. Bush scored through Lee Williams and Mike White.

Netherhall had a 1-0 win at Silloth, Jimmy Irving getting the only goal while St Bedes beat Frizington 3-0.

The Globe hit double figures in their division two game against Frostoms, Simon Rickerby (3), Tony Allaker (2), Rab Bower (2), Mark Walton (2) and Mike Davies on the mark for the Cockermouth side.

For beleaguered Frostoms Krystoph Klimek scored the goal of the game firing in from 25 yard after beating a couple of Globe players.

Whitehaven went top of the division with a 4-0 victory over the Bluebell, Eddie Holiday (2), Dave Merner and Richard Johnstone scored for the home team.

Moresby beat the Hall Park Hotel 6-1 with Gary Charlton (3), Peter Curtis, Chris Haille and Mark Stevenson being the Moresby scorers. Peter Vaughan responded for the Workington team.

Penrith kept up the pressure on Whitehaven with an impressive performance to beat the Howard's 4-0.
