Laura Cadman & Lee Reynolds

Laura Cadman, 23, a property officer, and Lee Reynolds, 25, a labourer, both work at Carlisle Housing Association. They live in Carlisle.

HOW THEY MET: They met at college in 2001 through their best man. He introduced them at a Valentine’s disco and Laura asked Lee to dance.

PROPOSAL: Covered in paint, Lee proposed while they were decorating their new home in 2006.

VENUE: St Bede’s Church, Carlisle, on April 19.

THEME: Ivory, emerald green and butterflies.

BRIDE’S OUTFIT: An ivory strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline and lace-up back decorated with butterfly-shaped diamantes; a diamante tiara; and ivory veil with Swarovski crystals – from Russells Wedding Studio, Carlisle.

GROOMSMEN: Chase Cooling-Simpson was best man. The groom’s brother Paul Reynolds was an usher. They wore black Prince Edward suits with ivory waistcoats and ivory or emerald green ruches.

BRIDESMAIDS: The bride’s sister Beth Cadman, the groom’s sister, Annja Reynolds, and friend Rachael Jenkins were bridesmaids. They wore emerald green dresses from Capricorn, Carlisle. The bride’s god-daughter Grace Marsh and the groom’s niece Emmy Reynolds were flowergirls.

FLOWERS: A bouquet of ivory roses, calla lilies, veronica and white freesias with smaller versions for the bridesmaids – all from Cochranes, Longtown. The bride also had a smaller bouquet that she threw for the ladies.

TRANSPORT: An ivory Beauford, Rolls Royce Silver Cloud and a Daimler limousine from Silver Lady Wedding Cars, Carlisle.

RECEPTION: The Greenhill Hotel, Wigton, for 120 guests with a further 30 in the evening.

TABLE SETTINGS: Topiary trees by Balloons4all in Dumfries and butterfly place-cards.

FAVOURS: Charity pins from The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation and the Alzheimer’s Society, Scotland.

CAKE: A three-tier ivory cake decorated from Mark & Spencer, topped with two white butterflies from Margies, of Carlisle.

FIRST DANCE: Breathless, Shayne Ward.

HONEYMOON: The Maldives.
