Stephanie Cruden & Steven Power

Stephanie Cruden, 26, a technical assistant, and Steven Power, 28, a health physics monitor, both work at Sellafield. They live in Cleator Moor.

HOW THEY MET: They were childhood sweethearts who met at school in 1998. They dated for three years and got back together in September 2004.

PROPOSAL: Steven proposed as the clock hit midnight on New Year’s Day in 2007.

VENUE: St Begh’s Church, Whitehaven, on April 5.

THEME: Traditional.

BRIDE’S OUTFIT: An ivory lace and tulle Justin Alexander A-line dress with a cathedral-length veil and tiara all supplied by Dresses and Dreams, of Workington.

GROOMSMEN: Paul Giel was best man. David Hall and Billy Meagan were ushers. The bride’s nephews Ellis Moffitt, Tyler Wilson and Robbie Moffitt were page boys. They wore morning suits with ivory ruche ties and waistcoats supplied by Well Suited, of Cockermouth. The groom wore an ice blue ruche tie.

BRIDESMAIDS: Lisa Webster was maid of honour. The bride’s sisters Gayle Wilson and Dawn Moffitt were bridesmaids. They wore ice blue Jim Hjelm dresses supplied by Dresses and Dreams. The bride’s niece Maisie Wilson was a flowergirl and wore an ivory tulle dress supplied by Little Cherubs, of Whitehaven.

FLOWERS: The bride had a hand-tied bouquet of green roses while the bridesmaids had cream gerberas supplied by Rose Budz, of Whitehaven.

TRANSPORT: A vintage-style Beauford from A Touch Of Class, Workington, and a Hummer limousine supplied by Pro Limos, of Penrith.

RECEPTION: The Greenhill Hotel, Wigton, hosted a three-course meal for 115 people with a further 100 guests in the evening for a buffet and a chocolate fountain from Fountains of Desire, Egremont.

TABLE SETTINGS: Ivory topiary trees on mirrored plates with tea-light candles.

FAVOURS: It was the day of the Grand National, so the couple bought each guest a bet. They all watched the race after the speeches.

CAKE: A round, three-tier, ivory and green-iced chocolate cake made by Mary Smith, of Cleator Moor.

FIRST DANCE: Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol.

ENTERTAINMENT: School friends, Mazzoni Unplugged band and Disco2000 from Morecambe. They held a Soccer AM-style dance-off in the evening.

HONEYMOON: Kissimmee in Florida.

PHOTOGRAPHER AND VIDEOGRAPHER: Bayvista Studios, of Whitehaven.
