Go wild in the county

WILD Beasts, described by NME as ‘a tip for the top’, play their home town, Kendal, on Friday, July 25.

The band, who are now based in slightly more music industry-user friendly Leeds, are label-mates with The Kills, Artic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand and Lightspeed Champion. A review by Uncut magazine gave debut album Limbo, Panto four out of five, while NME gave it eight out of 10. New single The Devil’s Crayon was released on Monday.

Tickets for Wild Beasts’s gig at the Brewery cost £6, available from www.breweryarts.co.uk or by calling 01539 725133.

Do you think that we will get any sun in September?

Of course! I haven't had a chance to use my BBQ yet

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. September has been nice in recent years

No chance. It's going to rain until next July
