The team, which plays in the Penrith and District League, won a treble - the Cumberland FA County Cup, the Penrith and District League, and the Tommy Hall Memorial Trophy.

In the U16s County Cup they beat Keswick (away) and Alston (away) from the Penrith League, Carlisle City (home) and Northbank (away) from the Carlisle Glass League and Winscale, the West Cumberland League winners.

The one trophy to elude them was the Ted Nansen League Cup in which they were beaten 1-0 by Keswick in the final.

The teams has so far played 34 games this season and won 31 of them. They have scored 205 goals and conceeded 20.

Stefan Scott was top scorer with 44 goals and was supported by Gareth Brunton (28) Simeon Lee (25) Nick Holden (22) and Guy Richardson (22).

Centre midfield players chipped in with 31 goals - Shane Rooney (10) captain Callum Lee (nine) Steven Hampton (seven) and Daniel Mcdermott (five).

Defence made huge contributions both in defence and attack chipping in with 26 goals - Liam Jackson (eight) Brian Hodgson (seven) vice captain Ryan Moody (seven), Connor Magee (three), Ian Green (two) and Paul Sharpe (one).

The team used three goalkeepers which were Connor Magee, who was badly injured and only played one game after January, Matthew Charters and Ian Green.

Six of the players represented Cumbria at school level and 12 turned out for the Cumberland FA U16.

The team was formed nine seasons ago at U8 level and Brunton is the only survivor from the original team.

They were part of Workington Jnrs on formation but changed to Workington Southfield and latterly Workington Reds Youth with the kind permission of the Workington Reds directors.

The team has evolved over the nine seasons with players leaving for professional clubs such as Carlisle Utd, Blackburn and Gretna and new players coming in mainly from Workington but also from Whitehaven and Frizington.

In the team photograph the boys are wearing a strip they got for free from the Football Foundation as part of being a Chartered Standard Club.

Over the years they have played in the West Cunberland, Carlisle Glass and Penrith junior leagues with great success in all.

Next season the team are planning to continue in either the Carlisle Glass U18 league or the Penrith and District U18 league.

The team would like to thank sponsors Cuetos Fish Restauraunt, Maryport, and Workington Reds board of directors.
